Energetic and charismatic, Soul Up Top brings both classic and modern Funk, R&B, and Soul songs to life. Three Horns, bass, guitar, keys, and drums, all fronted by an amazingly talented vocalist, Soul Up Top can get any crowd moving.

Tyler Reznick

Tyler Reznick is a jazz trumpet player with a passion for performance. Playing trumpet for 12 years and percussion for 10, he has been in numerous groups of all genres and has performed throughout Ontario, Quebec, and New York State. As well as a peformer, Tyler is also a recording engineer, and has recorded artists of all styles: from classical flute quartets to modern rap artists. With experience from many aspects of the music industry in genres stretching from classical to modern pop, Tyler brings a well rounded approach to directing Soul Up Top.

Olivia Pileggi

Ginevra Mormile

Ginevra has always had a passion for music and has dedicated her entire life to piano and theory. She has studied classical piano with the Royal Conservatory of Music from the age of 7 and is enrolled in the York University music program. As well as being the keyboardist for Soul Up Top, Ginevra is also a member of the Richmond Hill Philharmonic Orchestra. Ginevra works with multiple schools in the Bolton area teaching piano to many students from children to adults and continues to enjoy watching her students grow and succeed.

Sean Goldman

-Vocalist

Olivia is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist from Richmond Hill. She has always been drawn to sing, and has trained as a classical vocalist since the age of 12. She has performed with the Upper Canada Chorus, and in various musical theatre productions including "Les Miserables" at the RHCPA. Olivia has been a part of many small ensembles as both an instrumentalist and a singer, performing and competing throughout the GTA. When she isn't rehearsing or performing, Olivia gives private vocal lessons to students of all ages.

Olivia draws influences from vocalists such as Chino Moreno, Brandon Boyd, Christina Aguilera, Maynard James Keenan, and Amy Winehouse. Her unique sound and undeniable talent are enough to inspire anyone.

Sean Goldman is a teacher, composer and multi-instrumentalist. He has recently completed his degree in music composition at the University of Toronto Faculty of Music where he studied under Abigail Richardson-Schulte. Sean plays and sings in a range of genres that span from classical to classic rock. Asides from his work with Soul Up Top, Sean is currently a musical contributor to the Toronto-based organization Musica Reflecta and directs a choir based out of the Temple Kol Ami synagogue in Thornhill. The only passion that rises above Sean’s musical pursuits is his lifelong obsession of creating a set of Russian Nesting Dolls that graduate down to the molecular level.

Jessie Taynton

Daniel Smith

Jessie Taynton has been playing bass guitar for 10 years, and is currently finishing a triple major in Music, Mathematics, and Education. She has performed in a wide variety of ensembles throughout Toronto and the GTA. Her influences range through a number of styles, from Blues and classic R&B to modern prog rock. Jessie has a passion for music and music education, and aims to inspire a new generation of musicians locally and internationally through teaching and example. Jessies experiences and passion for her craft shine through as she plays.

Daniel is a predominantly self-taught guitar player. He has been playing for years and has developed a style and sound that are uniquely his own. Beyond the guitar Daniel studies at York University and is an active and vital member of York's Cheerleading team. With a fantastic ear and strong technical proficiency Daniel has played with various gospel groups and now brings his strong set of skills to Soul Up Top.

J. is a freelance musician and educator who has been performing since 1973. His studies have included time at Humber College, University of Lousiville and Queen's University as well as performances with York University under the baton of Bramwell Smith Jr. J has performed in styles ranging from Soul/R&B to Rock, Orchestral to Theatre, and Small Ensembles to Polka. He brings his musical expertise and wisdom to the sound of Soul Up Top.

Branden has been playing the saxophone since his early teens. He studied his craft simultaneously at the Etobicoke School of the Arts and at Humber College, where he honed his skills in both performance and music theory. He continued with his passion for music at York University while earning a degree in Business Administrative Studies. Branden has studied and performed alongside musicians such as Brendan Cassidy, Trent Reschny, Jonathan Kay, and Dave Koz. Genuine love and passion for playing a variety of styles not limited to jazz, funk, R&B and soul make Branden a very committed and versatile member of Soul Up Top.

Stuart Siu

Matthias Balaban

Stuart is a fourth year student enrolled in the Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto. Although enrolled in the Concurrent Education Program, Stuart is an active musician within the GTA. In the past few years, he has performed with the Toronto Youth Wind Orchestra, Hannaford Youth Band, the Kindred Spirits Orchestra and Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra.

From early on Matthias has been exposed to a variety of music from his family, friends. He fell in love with music at a young age, and started playing Drums at the age of 12. Since then he has performed with groups ranging from Theatre pit bands, to Jazz Big Bands, to Rock acts, and even Concert Orchestras. Matthias studied Jazz performance at York University, and expanded his playing abilities to the realms of guitar and piano. He is currently studying to be an Energy Systems Engineer. Matthias has a love of music and a passion for drumming that he uses to bring high energy to Soul Up Top.
